I really don't want to be at work today...

I had really planned on getting up early this morning and going to Target (one of my favorite stores) for a few Black Friday deals before work. I set my alarm for 5:00a... or so I thought. The alarm time was set, but I didn't turn it on. So, around 8:00a this morning, I drug my ass out of bed and got ready for work. As I drove past stores and malls, I was starting to not feel well... I think it's shopping withdrawal.

I am getting a lot done today. I have a huge presentation next week that I am preparing for, and working on testing some enhancements to our recruitment software that we are implementing this month. Nothing exciting, but crap that needs to get done.

The majority of our department is closed today. Our main door is open, but no one is at the front desk to greet, so people keep walking in and wandering around until they find someone to help them. It's so annoying... so I decided to put a big sign on the front door that says...

CORPORATE HUMAN RESOURCES IS CLOSED TODAY

SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE

Funny... people don't read. I have had 5 people in the last 1/2 hour come in and wander down to my office (or yell "helllllooooo" from the front). I think I am closing my office door and let the others fend for themselves!

Or better yet...maybe I can sneak out early and go shopping!
